About Lazy Acres Bernedoodles
Our story
Hi! My name is Becca and I run Lazy Acres Bernedoodles with my partner on our ranch in Longmont, CO. From a young age, dogs have always held a special place in my heart. One of my fondest childhood memories was dressing up as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, just so I could bring my beloved Border Terrier along for Halloween festivities.
Throughout my life, dogs have always been a source of therapy and unwavering companionship. They are our best friends, providing us with endless joy and unconditional love. It is this profound connection and the desire to share the same happiness with others that led me to embark on my journey as a dog breeder.
Our mission is to bring the same joy and fulfillment that dogs have brought us to other families. We ensure that each Bernedoodle puppy is raised with love, care, and socialization. We strive to produce healthy, well-rounded puppies that will become cherished members of their new families.

At Lazy Acres Bernedoodles, we take pride in raising healthy, well-loved dogs. Our breeding moms live in our home as part of the family, and each parent is carefully chosen for health, beauty, and a calm, family-oriented temperament. All of our dogs undergo thorough DNA health testing through Embark for breed-specific conditions, comprehensive vet evaluation for lungs, heart and eyes and OFA hip evaluations before joining our program.
Our puppy raising program
Our puppies receive the comprehensive Badass Breeders puppy training curriculum, incorporating Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI), techniques also used in raising military and service dogs. Starting as early as day 3, puppies are gradually introduced to new sights, sounds, smells, textures, children, and other animals. We also begin foundational potty training and crate training to help them transition smoothly into their new homes.
Your puppy’s health is just as important to us. We provide high-quality nutrition for both mom and puppies, deworm every two weeks beginning at 2 weeks old, and administer their first vaccinations and a microchip at 8 weeks old. Before going home, every puppy receives a veterinary health exam that includes their hips, elbows, patellas, eyes, heart, lungs, and overall health. We stand behind the care we provide with a 2-year health guarantee covering inherited conditions, so you can welcome your new family member with confidence.
Puppy Selection
Our puppy selection process is thoughtfully designed to help you find the perfect puppy for your lifestyle. Families are welcome to visit at 4 and 6 weeks old to meet the puppies and begin building a bond. At 6 weeks, we conduct temperament testing using a program designed to identify promising family and service dogs. We then share each puppy’s results, along with updated photos and videos, to help you make an informed decision.
Families choose in reservation order, and I’m always happy to offer guidance based on temperament results and my observations of each puppy. I encourage families to consider this information while also trusting their instincts and choosing the puppy they feel most connected to. For families unable to visit in person, we also offer video chats.
Once selections are complete at 6 weeks, puppies continue growing and developing with us until take-home day at 8 weeks old!
Ranch Livin’
Our Bernedoodles are raised on a raw supplemented diet that consists of regeneratively raised meat sourced directly from our ranch. In addition, we make local and regenerative dog treats for our dogs. These nutritious snacks keep our dogs happy and healthy. We believe in providing them with the highest quality nutrition for optimal health.
In addition to their nutritious diet, our dogs enjoy an active lifestyle. They spend their days playing in our spacious yard and have the freedom to run and explore on our ranch, where they interact with our goats, sheep, rabbits, and chickens. This enriching environment allows our Bernedoodles to develop social skills and enjoy a well-rounded upbringing.
